WHAT ARE VOC's?

VOC’s or Volatile Organic Compounds

VOC’s or Volatile Organic Compounds are organic chemicals that have a higher vapor pressure at ordinary room temperature. That means that these gases and chemicals are easily dispersed into the air. Some VOCs are dangerous to human health and the environment and will negatively affect the indoor air quality of the home or business.

Until they smell something bad or feel sick, most people do not find an indoor air quality problem, but many VOCs have no visible characteristics, leading to poor air quality situations without any perceptible signs.

It is not sufficient to simply know which chemicals are present when designing an action plan for solving VOC problems. To improve air quality, it is important to understand the sources as well as how the VOCs can react to changing conditions.

Since air quality is such a complex problem, when planning a sampling strategy, it is crucial to have a specific objective in mind.

What is the issue or purpose? Odor, physical signs, transactions in real estate, tracking, plain curiosity?
Is the issue present all the time or is it unique to a specific location/time/activity?
Have they recently launched any new goods, practices, or environmental conditions?
Is the impact restricted to one person or is anyone affected?
Do you need a VO overview?
Do you need an overview of the VOCs or more detailed chemical information?
